In Today’s article I wanted to give you some yummy healthy snack ideas that you can try in place of unhealthy choices. Of course life gets crazy and we sometimes have to go to the quickest thing available.

As a mom of 2 I know all about how crazy it all can get, so hopefully with these healthy easy snacks you can have them ready to go on busy days.

Planning Planning Planning

Planning is a huge game changer when it comes to meals, & snacks. I always plan my snacks for the week on Sunday nights so I have them in my fridge and ready to roll when I need to leave in a pinch.

I pick a few different options to make and than just make a good quantity of it. I put it in multiple containers or baggie’s to separate it out into portions which also helps me keep my snacks to a minimum and in moderation.

I like to try to make meal planning fun and get my kiddos involved in helping. We also try to pick fun snack that are kids friendly and will get them to willingly choose the healthy route.

Snack #1 & #2

Snack number 1 is our most favorite of all. Pickle Wraps, going fast in our house. I would say my daughter is a little obsessed with them and thinks she needs them 24/7. She enjoys helping prep them but I think she eats more than she makes!

Pickle wraps are easy and inexpensive to make. We buy the baby dill pickles we don’t have a specific brand we buy, I usually just go by wants on sale at the time and than we need dried beef, & cream cheese.

To prep them we Spread the cream cheese on the dried beef, and wraps the beef around the pickle. Next we put the pickles into a few chunks and than store them in containers in the fridge.

We usually just make enough till the dried beef container is gone so we don’t have to worry about making more during the middle of the week.

It’s as simple as that, and so tasty!

Snack number 2 we like to have cucumber, cream cheese, & everything bagel seasoning! Cut up slices of cucumber, mix 1 container of cream cheese & mix with bagel seasoning.

We don’t have a certain an amount we use for bagel seasoning we just test try them and add as needed. We spread the cream cheese mixture on the bagels at time of eating the snack. This is one where we don’t pre spread it on even though I am sure it would be fine if you did.

Snack #3 & #4

We are huge carrot fans, and this is something super fast and easy. We buy a bag of baby carrots, and place a handful in multiple containers.

We than make our own veggie dip for the carrots. 16 oz of sour cream and 1 pack of dry ranch seasoning mixed together. We personally like this better than buying pre-made veggie dip.

This is how we get our daughter to eat carrots and she even likes taking them to school for snack which is a huge plus.

Another snack we like to have handy is broccoli salad.

What you need

  • One stalk of broccoli
  • 1-2 cups of real mayo (depending on if you like more sauce or not)
  • 1 teaspoon of white distilled vinegar
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • Bacon bits ( we buy the bag pre made)

Mix the mayo, vinegar, cheese, & bacon altogether and than add the broccoli at the end. Put into multiple containers so it’s ready to go and refrigerate.

I personally am not a huge fan of broccoli but I like it this way so I feel it’s a good way to fit it in.

Snack #5 & #6

Sometimes when we are craving an unhealthy option such as chips, we try to think of different alternatives to it. We found one that has been a huge hit recently.

Low carb sour cream dip whether you make your own or buy it pre made. We buy this one pre made and usually pick a party dip. We like to eat the dip with pork skins our favorite kind of pork skins are BBQ. This is one where there is little to no prep or making. It’s a simple grab and go.

We tend to crave chocolate here or there and instead of binge eating cookies or candy bars we have tried a few recipes of protein balls.

What you need

  • 2 cups of quick oats
  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 table spoon of honey

Mix all ingredients together and rolling into balls. Make sure to put them in the fridge for best tasting and long-lasting. Enjoy this yummy snack and try not to eat them all because wow are they good!

Healthy Alternatives

Being healthy doesn’t have to be boring or unsatisfying. Make it fun and creative, learn to give yourself a break and come up with other ways and alternatives you can choose that will still satisfy you and curve your craving for things like chocolate.

If you plan out in advance you will be able to grab and go. This will help you out with saving a lot of time and still being healthy. It has helped my family a ton!

What’s your favorite healthy snack? I would love to hear from you in the comments so I can personally reply and try your favorites!
